Located in the northern part of Maharashtra, the city offers some breathtakingly beautiful monuments that date back to the Mughal era. The royal feeling of the city has not faded with the time and can still be witnessed in the form of countless relics and monuments. It also offers some masterpieces of Himroo shawls, Mashru and Kimkhab Weaves.
Bibi Ka Maqbara, which is an excellent example of Persian architecture is sure to leave to spellbound. Aurangabad Caves display the influence of Tantric Cult. In addition to this, other places of attraction include Girishneshwar Temple, which is among twelve jyotirlingas. The most famous excursion to be taken from Aurangabad is that of Ajanta and Ellora caves. Other excursions include Daulatabad situated on a Pyramid -shaped hill and Khuldabad- the burial place of Aurangzeb.
