Varanasi or Banaras is one of the oldest cities of India. It is the center of religion, culture and art.
The main attractions comprise of the ghats, Durga temple, Kashi Vishwanath temple / Gyanvapi mosque, Bharat Mata temple, Tulsi Manas temple, Banaras Hindu University, and Jantar Mantar. Varanasi is famous for the art of silk weaving. Banarasi saris and brocade-work are simply beautiful. The city is also known for handicrafts that include metalware, bead jewellery, glass bangles and wooded and clay toys.
