to Amber Palace and Fort and enjoy a truly Indian
Experience with an Elephant ride at the Palace like
Maharajas and Maharani used to do. Return to hotel

» 09 - Udaipur
After breakfast depart Jodhpur for Udaipur, by
the same car and driver, stopping enroute to visit
the famous:
Ranakpur Jain Temples
: Located 96 kms from Udaipur,
this is one of the five main holy places of the
Jains. Although over 500 years old, dedicated
to Adinath, it has 29 halls, 80 domes and 1,444
pillars. What is interesting here is the fact
that no two pillars are alike. Each of these pillars
is covered with the most intricate carvings. Few
places in Rajasthan can match the ambience of
Ranakpur.
After seeing Ranakpur Temples, drive on
to Udaipur passing through Eklingji Temple
is where the family temple of the Maharanas of
Udaipur is located . This is s complex which houses
108 temples and Nagda where the temples of Saas-Bahu
and Adbhutji are to be seen. Continue drive to
Udaipur, arriving hotel in the evening.

In Udaipur. After breakfast depart for sightseeing

Return to hotel for lunch.

Jag Niwas : Better
known as Lake Palace, built on one of the islands
of Lake Pichola, served as a summer residence
of the former rulers. Jag Niwas is now a world
famous hotel, called Lake Palace Hotel.
Jag Mandir Palace :
Jag Mandir, also on an island of Lake Pichola,
is said to have been built by Maharana Karan Singh
as a retreat for his friend Prince Khurram, who
later became Emperor Shah Jahan. The cupolas,
a lofty dome, majestic palms, beautiful rooms
with inlaid stone and paintings of the palace
are worth seeing.

KEOLADEO GHANA NATIONAL
PARK
The first wildlife park on the Golden Triangle
of tourism is Keoladeo, 55 Kms from Agra. The
rich aquatic plant and animal life in the shallow,
fresh-water marsh of Bharatpur has been attracting
resident and migratory aquatic birds in thousands
since times immemorial. For the number and variety
of birds to be seen, Keoladeo is matchless. The
prominent fauna : Egrets, Darters, Cormorants,
Grey herons, Storks, Pheasant- tailed and bronze-winged
jacanas, Greylag geese, Siberian cranes during
winter. Also Nilgai, Chital, Sambar, Black bucks
and Pythons.
In the national park, you can enjoy cycle-rickshaw
ride or can go for a boat ride to enjoy birds
watching.
Return to Lodge for overnight stay.

After breakfast depart Bharapur for Agra, by the
same car and driver, stopping enroute to see the
deserted city of Akbar, known as:
FATEHPUR SIKRI
Designed by King Akbar as his capital, the city
was lived-in for only a very few years - between
1570 and 1586. It is a beautiful architectural
city built of red sand stone, which is now deserted.
Today, this complex of palaces is a beautifully
preserved -ghost city.
After seeing Fatehpur Sikri drive on to Agra,
arriving hotel before lunch. After lunch depart
for sightseeing of Agra city by the same car with

of King Akbar. This majestic mausoleum built in
1613 combines Muslim and Hindu architectural styles.
After seeing Sikandra, drive on to Delhi, arriving
hotel in the afternoon. Rest of the day at leisure.
