About Hassan :
Around 190 kms from the capital city of Bangalore is Hassan, an
ideal base to explore the historical places like Belur, Haleibid
and Shravanbelagola. Not much is known about the history of the
place, but only that it was under the rule of the great Hoysala
Empire between the 11th and the 14th century. Although there is
not much importance attached to Hassan, it was known to be an important
center of Jainism and literature of Jain articles. It forms the
best base camp for the important places of the historical important
places.
